Afgelopen week werd bekend dat Thor Hansen ernstig ziek is en dat heeft de pokerwereld hard getroffen. Voor de Noorse pokerscene is Thor Hansen the Godfather of Poker maar ook daar buiten is hij erg populair en heeft vele vrienden gemaakt in zijn lange en succesvolle carrière.

In Noorwegen is nu een Thor Hansen Fonds opgericht door het Noorse forum Donkr.com, Andreas Hoivold en Frode Fagerli.

As I'm sure many of you probably now know, Norwegian poker legend Thor Hansen is very ill with cancer. Thor is much loved in the international poker community and has been playing EPTs virtually since the start. Een aantal uren later sprak Lina met Thor Hansen: "I just spoke to Thor! He says he's gonna fight this and he says hi to everyone. He also said the doctors can't make him cry but we can beeing this good to him! ♥ Told him to keep the good spirit and with everyones help we're gonna push him along the way! I also told him what an amazing support he's getting now from all over the world and he's overwhelmed! We love you Thor and we're gonna do our best to give you as many years as you possibly can!"

Het is duidelijk dat het nieuws de Noorse pokercommunity hard getroffen heeft.
