De laatste live cash van Daniel Negreanu stamt nog uit de afgelopen zomer waar hij in drie events op de World Series of Poker wist te cashen. Daarna reisde hij de hele wereld en half Europa door om veel events te spelen maar wist niks te verdienen. De afgelopen tijd is het dan ook erg rustig rond hem geworden en dat blijkt nu, na zijn laatste blog, een bewuste keuze te zijn geweest. Daniel Negreanu heeft een poker pauze genomen.

"The two month long trip to Europe absolutely drained me both mentally and physically," blogt Negreanu. "On the last leg of that trip, EPT San Remo, I played good for the first three hours, then just collapsed and had no interest/energy to continue. I was spent, and played terribly, hoping to either get lucky and double up, or catch the next flight home. I can't remember the last time I mailed in a tournament like that, but I just didn't have it. I definitely needed a break from the game... so I took one. I started working on 'Me'."

"My focus isn't really on poker at the moment, and that's not something I feel the need to apologize for. I've worked hard in this industry for many years, both at the tables and away from the felt, and I needed a little time for me, so I took it."

In zijn poker pauze heeft Daniel Negreanu zich bezig gehouden met Yoga en vrijwilligerswerk. Afgelopen weekend startte hij weer met live-pokeren tijdens de WPT Five Diamand $100.000 highroller, deze werd door Jason Mercier gewonnen.
