'ElkY' Player of the Year Europe
Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier is Cardplayer European Player of the Year 2008. De in London woonachtige Fransman heeft in 2008 maar liefst 6 finaltables gehaald in toernooien die er toe doen.
Hij won de PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in januari van 2008 en in oktober schreef hij de World Poker Tour Festa Al Lago op zijn naam.
Hij neemt de titel over van Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliot en laat als naaste belager David Benyamine achter zich. Benyamine behaalde op de World Series of Poker maar liefst drie final tables en won er één van.
Op de vraag hoe belangrijk zijn tweede overwinning was zegt hij: "I guess it is really important to make that confirmation because these days there are so many tournaments all over the world so there are a lot of tournament winners. But winning two major titles in one year is a very big feat so I'm very proud and I'm very proud of the way I worked on my game."
