Hello Everybody – I am in the middle of learning how to write and publish my first blog and also how to upload pictures – I am a bit of a computer-illiterate so I hope it works – I will be writing about poker, backgammon, sex, religion and everything else that comes to mind – Hope you like it

Dat onder de knie krijgen van het bloggen duurde in het geval van The Great Dane 12 dagen want op 18 oktober konden we de eerste boeiende blog lezen waarin hij zich afvraagt hoe het allemaal zo ver heeft kunnen komen met Full Tilt Poker en Black Friday:

Just some thoughts:

I briefly mentioned that about 6 months ago the U.S. government, or more specifically the D.O.J. of the Southern district of N.Y. indicted Pokerstars, Ful Tilt Poker and other pokersites. It of course sent a shockwave through the online poker community, which from now on is barred from playing online poker in the so-called 'Land of the Free?' Rather than speculate on why, why now and was it just a Moneygrab, which has been covered in numerous interviews and magazines, I personally think it is just as interesting to wonder how?

How did it happen that the country who invented modern poker like Hold'em, Omaha and stud would be standing on the frontline banning all these great forms of poker? How come the U.S. with their ultra right-wing Fox news, keeps telling us how despicable the internet censorship in the People's Republic of China is, just to follow it up with their own kind of censorship? How come it is ok for horses to run in a circle and have people betting on it and not acceptable that human beings sit in a circle and play a skillfull card game for money? Needless to say it does not make any sense at all, but then again who could expect any intelligent outcome in a country where NO-ONE gets elected into office without confessing a sincere belief in Millenia old fairytales.

Playing poker has not hurt anybody apart from the involved parties winning or losing a couple of dimes, all of them old enough to make their own decisions. Hopefully one day rational thought will prevail and people will stop from imposing their fucked up ideas upon others :)

Het bloggen lijkt Gus goed te bevallen want zelden is een pokerspeler zo actief aan het schrijven geweest. Hopelijk houdt de Deen het lang vol.
