Poker inkomsten Unibet lopen met 41% terug
De inkomsten uit poker van Unibet zijn het eerste half jaar van 2011 met maar liefst 41% teruggelopen. De eerste helft van 2010 bedroeg dit nog £11,8 miljoen en dat is nu £6,97 miljoen.
De teruglopende inkomsten uit poker zijn nagenoeg geheel toe te schrijven aan het verlaten van de Franse markt. Black Friday heeft invloed gehad op de cijfers, maar niet waar het gaat om spelersverkeer. Het zat hem meer aan de kosten kant waar Unibet het marketing budget heeft opgeschroefd om spelers binnen te halen.
In een verklaring zegt Unibet: "During the second quarter of 2011 the rationalisations of bonus spends and focus towards the casual player continued. The now famous 'Black Friday' prompted additional promotional activity and a temporary increase in marketing spend within the whole poker network aimed at capturing additional market share. However Poker has remained a difficult market with little sign yet of any significant impact from the closure of some US-facing competitors."
