Ashton 'theASHMAN103' Griffin schrijft in zijn laatste blog over zijn resultaten op de nose bleeds. Inmiddels speelt hij de high stakes alweer 2,5 jaar en heeft hij $10 miljoen verdiend.

Op de Pot Limit Omaha tafels speelde hij 746.202 handen en daar won hij maar liefst ruim $8 miljoen volgens zijn eigen gegevens. Ook in No Limit Hold'em ging het niet slecht in in ruim 1 miljoen handen won hij daar ook nog eens $2 miljoen.

Hij heeft in zijn blog een paar wijze lessen die hij zelf door schade en schande heeft geleerd. "Your frustration from losing is a function of your ego. The bigger your ego is, the more you think you expect and deserve to win and the less open-minded you are to improving. Conversely, the more humble you are, the more you try to identify reality and the truth. In poker, the truth is equivalent to winning."

Winnaars hebben geen last van ego's, als je een nederlaag niet kan accepteren dan heb je verloren aldus Griffin. Winners let go, they are free. Their ego isn't driving them into oblivion. It's the hardest part about the game to understand.

Als hij zijn carriere omschrijft, dan kan dat in 1 zin zo zegt hij: I had phenomenal poker results(see below), but my ego prevented me from holding onto money and I extremely negative results was the price that I paid.
