Steambulls SNG kanonnen: BigBadBluff4
I proudly announce another SNG-canon willing to answer a couple of questions for us: Bigbadbluff4
Bigbadbluff is a regular at the mid/high SNG stakes and like in almost every 18-mans i start.
His combination of massmultitablingskills and a $2/game winrate makes him a very succesfull player.
How many hours a week do you play?
Normally about 60+, I'm full time :)
Are you at SuperNova Elite pace, is it a goal?
Yes I am on pace, I turned pro this year so it seemed like a good thing to aim for!
What would you advice semi-regs like me who want to quit their dayjob to grind SNG's?
It's really very dependent upon individual circumstances. However, some general pointers:
1) You should have a decent winrate over a very large sample (10,000+games at your favourite sng)
2) Playing professionally is way way way more stressful than playing casually as a semi-pro
3) You need to be a highly motivated person because it's easy to become complacent when working for yourself.
4) You need to have a life plan for what to do after poker and remember it's harder to get back into employment if you've been grinding for a few years.
5) You need to have both a roll that's big enough so you can never go bust at poker and also a few months of living expenses saved in case of a bad run
You think you can improve your winrate a little more? And how?
I could certainly improve my winrate if I played less tables, I've been playing a lot more to get SNE but I'm really aiming for the highest hourly possible. With more study also I could definitely improve my winrate.
What the best %% / %% for playing/learning?
Depends on what your goals are and if you are semi-pro or pro. For the average semi-pro I'd say about 80/20 and for a pro maybe 90/10.
Is there still $$ to be won at the $100+?
Yes if you play anywhere but Stars. At Stars really no one makes real $ that high any more but you can make a lot of fpps! Maybe the best players could have a 1-2% ROI if they played less tables but I'm sure they'd rather have a higher hourly.
How long will we see you at the $30 18-mans? plans for moving up or changing games?
I'll probably be playing them for the rest of this year. Next year once I have got SNE, my RB will be quite a bit higher so I can move up and play just $60+ more profitably.
