Sorel 'Imper1um' Mizzi won de afgelopen week het FTOPS XX leaderboard op Full Tilt Poker. Hij leverde een prachtige prestatie door in 17 van de 45 events te cashen.In een interview blikt de Canadees terug op zijn goede run in de pokertoernooien.

De pokerspeler die pas sinds kort terug is na zijn ban van 3 jaar op Full Tilt Poker denkt dat hij de titel te danken heeft aan het feit dat de Amerikanen geweerd zijn van de pokerroom.

"I didn't plan on playing that many FTOPS events, but after doing well in some of the earlier events I decided to head for the leader board. I found out I could win a $14,000 package and a custom avatar, and as I had already planned paying 1 million FPPs to buy an avatar, I decided to go for the win," zo vertelt hij. 

Sorel Mizzi behaalde maar liefst 5 finaletafels en winst met 1.365 punten zijn doel te bereiken en het leaderboard te winnen.

"I definitely feel like it has become easier to win. I feel like I get paid more off on my valuebets, and that I can make more sophisticated bluffs. It's like playing poker two, three years ago," zo zegt Sorel. "To me, there both advantages and disadvantages to the disappearance of the Americans; the fields are softer, but the prize pool are smaller than before. But part of my success is partly attributed to the fact that they are gone." 

In januari haalde Sorel Mizzi de titel Bluff Poker Player of the Year binnen en in april nog wist hij zich te kwalificeren voor de $100.000 Onyx Cup door een $640 satellite te winnen.
