With a little boost of SNG influence the last couple of months at Nederpoker we've decided to take some expert advice regarding the top of SNG at PokerStars.

We are very glad high stakes SNG player BigmickG found some time to answer a couple of questions for Nederpoker. BigmickG plays the highest steps and STT's with the $60 at the bottom of his range, and above. I've played him a couple of times and think he is one of the greatest SNGplayers at the moment. 1. Why did u choose to play SNG instead of cash?
Not sure tbh. Obviously I played everything at that start. i.e cash games, mtts and sngs. I enjoyed playing mtts but knew they were very high variance for someone trying to grind a bankroll so just decided to stick with the sngs because I enjoyed playing them more than cash.

2. Some players play SNG as a main income to play big MTT's, you too?
Not really. This year I've really cut down the amount of regular sngs I play and now focus mainly on mtts and steps. Obviously I play a few big buy in tournaments a year with my profits so I suppose you could say yes...

3. What's your favorite game/stake?
Step 6s and Gs would have to be my favorite game at the minute. Probably because I'm doing so well at them but also because I get a good buzz from them because there such a big buy in.

4. What are your goals?
My main poker goal is to make as much money as I can over the next few years because obviously the future and my future in the game are so uncertain.

5. What's your advice for midstakes players who would like to move up to $100+?
With the standard of the game being so high nowadays particularly in sngs Id say its a real tough time for someone trying to progress to the top levels. Only the best of the best who are willing to put in the time and effort and serious commitment will be successful at the top levels. Also because the rake is so high in sngs, profit margins are so small and many of the top sng players in the world nowadays rely on rakeback which is essential for anyone playing sngs. So basically alot of effort, read forums, use software and training sites can be useful
