Phil Galfond blogt over hand vs Eli Elezra
Phil Galfond heeft een blog geschreven over zijn optreden in High Stakes Poker en dan met name over de hand tegen Eli Elezra. Hij komt in een spot op de flop waar aardig wat discussie over is geweest.
Het gaat om deze hand (start op 5:25)
Dit is wat Phil Galfond over de hand had te vertellen:
"Once Eli raises the ATxdd flop, I put him on either a bluff (87cc, KQss, etc) or AT, TT, maaayyyybe 22, maaaaaybe AK/AQ, and maaaaaaybe Axdd. The maybe's are all pretty rare. He doesn't have enough bluff combos in his range to make a shove profitable. If I spike my diamond on the turn, I can c/c my stack off or just open shove. If I miss, I just c/f like I did".
"Am I sure that my call is the best play?... no. A fold may be best, depending on his exact range, and I haven't run the math on his hand combos and my implied odds and everything. I am positive that my play was better than shoving flop though. Everyone who 'knows' that I was in a shove or fold spot needs to work on thinking outside of the box and not just playing by the rules that outdated strategy books taught them", aldus Phil Galfond.

Hoezo? Volgens mij speelde hij die hand wel oke. Al heb ik het ook niet uitgerekend. Maar all-in gaan leek me eigenlijk de slechtste optie daar. Denk niet dat hij erg veel fold equity heeft. Dus het is folden of callen. Hij krijgt niet de directe odds om te callen maar als je denkt dat zijn raise sterk is (wat ie bijna altijd is) dan heb je dus nog redelijk wat implied odds. Dus ik snap wel waarom hij voor een call kiest. Als hij fold daar wordt hij ook nooit meer uitgenodigd voor high stakes poker.
