De uit Noorwegen afkomstige Andreas Hoivold speelde niet bijzonder lang in High Stakes Poker seizoen 6. Tijdens aflevering twee gaf hij zijn stoel op en verliet na Phil Hellmuth ook de pokertafel; twee ton lichter.

Terugkijkend op zijn aanwezigheid daar zegt hij tevreden te zijn met zijn spel: "I had the honor of playing in what probably is the best poker game ever assembled," zo zegt hij. "I don't regret anything."

De door Ladbrokes gesponsorde speler verloor zijn laatste muntjes toen hij op een vrouw hoog board met all-in callde tegen Gus Hansen. Gus speelde en maakte keurig two pair en pakte de pot op.

"I was completely card dead and didn't flop a pair during the 4-5 hours I played. But I should have played better and more aggressively."

Het kan trouwens best zijn dat hij nog terugkeert aan de tafel voor bijvoorbeeld seizoen 6: "I will probably have the chance if I want to. Time will tell if I take it or not. It all depends on what happens with poker in the future, not the least financially."
