Ook het Ladies Event van de PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is na twee dagen tot een goed einde gebracht. In totaal waren er 91 vrouwen die streden om de hoogste eer en die ging naar Vanessa Rousso.

Er waren veel onbekende namen in het veld, maar ook een aantal pro's die zij voor moest blijven. Zij zegt over het toernooi: “There were a couple of pros who played. J.J. Lui was in there, Annette Obrestad. There was a bunch of good players. Obviously you have to run well in any tournament you play in. but I didn’t make any mistakes that I know of, I played well and I’m happy with the way I played. Starting the year off with a victory is really cool.”

Van de week vertelde ze al dat ze nooit meer achter een bureau wil zitten voor haar werk (lees hier). Dit soort (relatief kleine) overwinningen helpen haar erbij om die nine-to-five verre van zich te houden.

De runner up was Halli Pinson, zij vond het geen standaard Lady's event. "This event was a lot more serious than most ladies tournaments. I didn't recognize that many faces, but the field seemed a lot more experienced than usual. These women had come to play, and they had come to win! Vanessa Rousso dominated the event though – she had good cards and she's an experienced player: the combination was lethal."
